project description

The reconstruction of the “Brewery on Podil” (Kyiv, Kyrylivska Street, 41) takes a special place in the UGBN development portfolio. Not only because the type of work was a reconstruction of an industrial facility with a change in purpose, but also because of the historical significance of the facility.

The original building appeared here back to the 18th century! And then it served as a brick factory. Further, at the beginning of the 19th century, the Degterev brothers set up a manufacturing plant and a workshop for the production of copper and cast iron products here. And only by the end of the 19th century, the merchant Khryakov, together with German partners, opened beer production at the significant place! And beer was brewed right up to 2013 …

In September 2014, the former “Brewery on Podil” hosted a Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine.
